YOGURTさんIN BANGKOK
先週・先々週と日本からDJ YOGURTさんが、バンコクに来ていた。 AKOさんより話を頂き、GOROちゃん＆SURFACEクルーなど色々な人たちの協力のもと、形にできました。 僕は仕事の傍ら、QLOWでのイベントは覗けず、Q BARでDJとしてだけ参加した形でしたが、大変いい勉強になりました。 GUESTを海外から呼ぶ大変さや責任、自分たちのローカルでの力や集客力、自分の力のなさを感じました。 知識も経験も少ない自分に、やさしく接してくれたYOGURTさんが印象的に覚えています。 この先、そしてこの年は、飛躍の年に出来るようがんばります！！

DJヨーグルト ／ DJ YOGURT ( UPSETS )
93年から08年まで15年の間、シスコテクノ店等のコアな音楽ファンに愛されるレコード店で バイヤー勤務していた経験と知識を生かし、05年以後は毎週末のように各地でDJをおこない、 平日は楽曲制作の相方KOYASやJEBSKIと作曲する日々を送っている。
パーティーの雰囲気を尊重しつつ、一万枚を越える所蔵レコードの中から選んだ多彩な選曲で独自の雰囲気を作り上げる感覚に定評があり、05年以後は Flower Of LifeやRawLife等大小60以上のPartyに参加、07年以後は毎年70以上 の国内各地のPartyに招聘されている。
96年にDJを開始して、98年には音楽製作ユニットUPSETSと、自身のレーベルUPSET RECを始動。その後作品を年に1～2枚ペースで毎年リリース。 リリースする作品は、ピークタイムのダンスフロアを揺るがす強烈なグルーヴの曲から、夜眠る時に聴くタイプのアンビエントまで、その作風の幅広さと奥の深さが多くの人達に驚嘆されている。
09年には、JEBSKI&YOGURTの3枚目と4枚目の12インチと 初のアルバムをROSE RECORDから、 DJ YOGURT&KOYAS PRODUCTIONがKLF/CHILL OUTに オマージュを捧げたアンビエントアルバムが リリース。

今月も楽しいことがありますよ～
先日のLOVE SPACE、Hiroshiman’s Sound Systemで音質とDJ TO-RU&GOROちゃんの選曲にも上がらせてもらいました。 ２３BARって音の反響が結構いい感じなのでは、と思いました。 機会があったら是非 LOVE SPACEに参加させてもらいたいです。
そして今月は、DJ YORGURTさんがタイに登場します!! SURFACE PRESENTS『CONNECTED』では、MAF SAI、NAT KINGSOULのDEEP HOUSE BROTHERHOODコンビで、場所はGLOWで行います。そしてGOROちゃんと僕のQ BARでのイベント『EARTH BEAT』にも参加します!! もうわくわくしています。 今年は、日本からのDJの人達のドンドン合体していきたいと思います。
そして、UB RADIOの自分のコーナー『MY KINGDOM』が、STATE TOWERの仕事の関係もあり、4PM-5PM(タイ時間)の時間帯になりました。

DJ Yogurt works for the record shop after experiencing the impact of Second Summer Of Love in the ‘90’s and traveled to Europe from Asia until ‘92. He begun DJing in ‘96. His music project “upsets” was started in ‘98. 3 CD releases & four 12” releases, were released in the Upsets name and 1CD&four 12”’s have been released so far by the Jebski & Yogurt name. He is known as successfully working the ambience of a room; bending, molding and sculpting the air molecules, choosing from over 10,000 records to fashion the perfect atmosphere for any party. He has played over 70 different parties in ’06 To’08 including Flower Of Life & Raw Life and already participated in over 80 in 2009. DJ Yogurt frequently performs at the famous clubs of Tokyo such as LIQUID ROOM, UNIT, MODULE, and LOOP. Also, Sapporo Precious Hall, Hakata Decadent Deluxe, and Kyoto Metro, etc. and has co-starred with foreign artists who play in Japan, performing alongside The Field[ Kompakt ] , Luomo , Sonic Boom [ex Spacemen 3] , Joel Martin[Quiet Village ], Nick Luscombe and more. And He Performed In WARP20( JAPAN) In 2009. He has many styles and influences; incorporating Ambient, House and Techno and has released tunes in many different shades and colours. The work of Jebski&Yogurt is influenced from Tech House that Yogurt frequently played in 2008 to 2009.

warming up with Deep House Brotherhood
DJ Nat King Soul started listening to Deep house music when he was studying with his mate in
the UK. Nat King Soul had his first chance to spin his early deep house collection at his friends
house party and fun-rising for his own school course.
In year 2001 Nat King Soul started his Jamming session before became a resident for the Deep
House Brotherhood party in west London, amongst the underground deep house night in the
UK. Meanwhile he’s also spinning his deep house wax from house party to club, place to place,
town to town, Nothing hill carnival to Bangkok city in 2004. After his landing in Bangkok he
started a club night “Late Night Crit”, began from “Cafe de Moc” on the first Saturday of the
month for a year before moving on to “Astra club” as a weekly resident for music people
only!
In 2007, after the return of his DJ cousin Maft Sai. They decided to start the deep
House Brotherhood party in Bangkok, from the underground club like Breaks to Club Culture,
Park Bridge and many more.

In 2003 Maft Sai started his resident DJ for
the DEEP HOUSE BROTHERHOOD party,
amongst the underground deep house
nights in the UK, he has also enjoyed resi-
dencies at Neighbourhhood Club (UK), Vide Bar (UK)
Roller Disco@Vauxhall (UK), dollar Bar (UK)
Beach Blanket Badylon (UK) , Westbound Studio (UK) ,Notting Hill Carnival
in 2005-2007 amongst many others. In 2007 Maft Sai started his own records label in Thailand “ZudRangMa Records” specialise in Thai Funk ,Luk Thung and Molam Music. His critically acclaimed compilation CD` Thai Funk ZudRang Ma has received raves reviews Worldwide and gained him fans in all corner of the globe.
Maft Sai`s DJ Sound take in elements of funk, rare groove, boogie, soul and deep house.
